Proxy rules, or a privacy control view for Claude?

Compare Proxifier’s general proxy rules with CCIso’s privacy controls, with clear use cases and limits.

Proxifier lets you choose proxies by application and connection conditions. CCIso aims to protect local privacy and keep Claude within boundaries you control, bringing connection rules, specific credential protections and check results together.

Proxifier is available today. CCIso is available for macOS, with Windows and Linux still planned. This comparison covers tasks and design scope, not a claim that planned CCIso features have shipped.

Start with the task

What you need What to examine
Choose a proxy, direct connection or block action for several apps Proxifier application rules and its Default rule
Configure proxy chains and name resolution Proxifier chain and DNS settings
Review Claude connection rules, specific credential protections and findings in one place Isolation status and Health check in CCIso for macOS
Let Claude read only selected personal files Evaluate file permissions or sandboxing separately from proxy features

Proxifier can block connections

Proxifier evaluates rules in order and uses its Default rule for remaining connections. Actions include proxy, direct and block. A rule miss does not necessarily mean a direct connection. Redundancy chains also have configurable behavior; the configuration you actually enable matters.

If your existing rules already meet your requirements and you have tested the relevant failure cases, another connection-management tool may add little value.

What CCIso aims to add

CCIso focuses on Claude: which entry points are included, which processes need a restart, and which specific credential permissions need attention. Findings should lead to a concrete action. Network rules maintained by a system service are a mechanism behind that privacy-control experience.

This flow is currently available only in the macOS version, and the process tree view is not available yet. Specific credential protections do not isolate every private folder, and allowed connections do not receive per-request content review. See how it works for the scope.

Before using both

Both tools may affect the same connection. Successful startup alone does not establish compatibility. The forwarding process, Claude processes and proxy-failure behavior need testing together. CCIso has not published complete coexistence results.
